This
category allows you to specify the properties
for thumbnail or full-sized images contained in
your gallery/ies.
Resize images:
The feature gives you the capability to set the
desired width and height for all images in your
galleries. The scaling is measured in pixels with
height or width values being established independently
from each other. If you want to
resize the source images, just specify the desired
dimensions and RET will shrink your images
to fit those dimensions. The original image proportion
is retained unaltered. This feature of Ryso
EasyThumbs may be particularly useful if you
have too large images that may not fit in the
browser and are therefore likely to load too long.
Image border:
You can also specify width and color of the
border that is added to thumbnails (this feature
is disabled by default and we recommend to use
it responsibly because improper border color
can spoil the entire impression). If
you want to have the border, mark the checkbox
and then specify the border's width and color
using the fields below.
| Note! Some versions of Netscape Navigator
does not support this feature. |
Rename files:
This option enables you to rename the source
files. To do this, choose one of the methods
below:
1. Random
- the program generates a random set of characters
to be used as file name. You can specify the
number of characters.
2. Counting from - indicate the initial number
for file name and all the rest files in the
gallery will be numbered in progressive order.
3. Add symbols - files are renamed through adding
characters on the left and/or right to the initial
name of both thumbnail and full-size
images.
Image properties:
Image
thumbnails are saved in JPEG format, no matter
what the format of source images is. JPEG uses
lossy compression, which reduces file size deleting
unimportant image information. This means that
as you increase the compression, you decrease
visual quality of the image.
1. Resized
and converted JPEG files quality % -
defines the quality
percentage for source images.
2. Preview
files quality % - allows
to specify the preferred quality for Preview files.
3. Preview
Size section
- lets you specify width and height values of
thumbnail images. Default preview image size
is set to 120 pixels. This means that the image
dimensions are decreased so that its longer
(either horizontal or vertical) side (wide side)
value becomes equal to the set value (120 pixels
in this example) and the other side (short side)
is proportionally shrunk.
Open pictures in
Your thumbnails that are linked directly to
full-size images can open in two ways: either
in the same browser window (when a user clicks
on a thumbnail image itself) or in Blank (new)
browser window.
